I made this guide mostly to help the dozens of people that would come to me for help with finding apartments, even though I’ve never formally worked in this field, so I’m in no way an expert or even particularly experienced in it (spent my first 6 years in NYC living without an apartment of any sort). Now that thousands of people seem to be coming across this post, I’m excited for the opportunity to expand it so that more people can find it helpful.
